Rain after 8 hours of ceramic coating : r/AutoDetailing

Just got my car fully ceramic coated last night and it started to drizzle this morning. I couldn’t keep it underground because we have no garage so I have to park it on the street. My work has underground parking so by the time I got to work the car is already wet from the rain.

I called my installer and he suggested to dry the car asap with a microfibre towel, is that the only thing I can do? Is my ceramic coating completed wasted because of the rain? I don’t wanna waste all the money I just spent

How was your ceramic coating curing process experience? Agony? No big deal? Pollens.

I've looked through posts in the forum on how folks with ceramic coating done coped with its curing process during first 2 to 3 weeks, whether DIY or had professionally done.

If professionally done, was your coating already been cured (accelerated?) at the time you picked it up?

I'll ask when i pick up in few days, but wasn't sure if during curing period, one is allowed to wash (per their recommendation, optimal with pressure wash with foaming, and quality microfiber towels with no scrub, just have it absorb water).

Otherwise, paranoid's (like me) could end up just keeping the car in the garage for next 3 weeks, under dehumid condition.

The curing process

Curing time is 2-3 weeks depending on environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature. During this time, the following should be avoided:

* The coating can help prevent your clear coat from water spots as it is hydrophobic. Ceramic Pro however is not bullet proof and can still get hard water spots. The coating is less likely to etch than your factory clear, but it can especially get water spots during the curing process and can be costly to remove.

* Parking under a shedding tree.

* Allowing bird droppings, sap or pollen to sit on the car and bake in the sun.

* Washing or abrading the paint

If you notice that your car gets water spots, bird droppings, tree sap etc. during the first two weeks, immediately remove it following our care instructions. Keep in mind the coating is soft; be gentle when working on the paint.
